Boo Boo, Sebastian and Snorts

//Boo Boo, Sebastian and Snorts

In October of 2010,  Sebastian, a young kitty, was found on the side of the road with injuries to his jaw which we sutured up. The Good Samaritan, a passer-thru from Montana, couldn’t stop thinking about him.  When he wasn’t claimed by an owner, she arranged a pretty darned complicated 5-legged transport to get Sebastian from Española to Montana.

“Boo Boo”is an 8-year-old brindle pit bull/ lab mix who was brought in by his owner with a tennis ball sized mass dangling from his belly. We removed it surgically and “Friends of the Shelter” in Los Alamos paid for the lab work to determine what it was. Unfortunately it is a type of cancer called a “mast cell tumor”… but truth is, there’s a good shot that we got it all and he will be fine for many years. He is not sick in any way and, really, there are no guarantees for any of us (with tails or without!).He’s still in a foster care home who is devoted to him for the long term if needed.  He is is a VERY sweet, laid back boy who gets along well with everybody. Please let us know if you’d like to meet him!

And “Snorts” was 2-year-old, 28 pound, black pug male with heartworms.  We treated him for the heartworms and he was adopted REALLY quickly!

Please note we will be closed June 8th, 2018 for an In-Service Day in prearation for our Summer Fiesta
