A free drive-thru vaccine clinic is set for May 21 at Española Humane.

The event will be held at the shelter’s clinic, 108 Hamm Parkway, Española, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 21. No appointment is necessary. All pets must be safely secured in their vehicles.

All vaccines, including rabies, are free; vaccines provided through the Petco Love initiative include DAPPv Canine and HCP Feline vaccines.

The series of free and low-cost vaccination clinics aims to keep pets healthy in the community. Petco Love’s national vaccination initiative provides 1 million free pet vaccines to its existing animal welfare partners, including Española Humane.

Other clinic dates will be scheduled soon.

Parvovirus and distemper in dogs, and panleukopenia in cats, are some of the most prevalent deadly diseases impacting pets that are preventable with a simple vaccine. An estimated 30% of pet parents do not take their pet to a veterinarian annually for preventative care.
