Join Española Humane, along with Santa Fe Animal Shelter and Felines & Friends New Mexico, as we join forces for a remarkable first-ever public collaboration to raise awareness, promote pet adoption, and celebrate the incredible bond between humans and animals with an initiative titled “Better Together.”

Better Together will unite all three organizations to show the power of working together to help homeless animals get that second chance in life. The initiative starts at the Santa Fe Pet Parade on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at 9 a.m. at the Santa Fe Plaza. The parade will feature a vibrant procession of shelter staff and volunteers, adorable four-legged friends, with a banner titled Better Together. The annual parade, sponsored by Santa Fe Fiestas, entertains audiences of all ages, spreading joy and emphasizing the importance of responsible pet ownership.

On Friday, September 15, 2023, from 1 to 5 p.m., all three organizations will unite again for the first-ever collaboration to find second chances for animals of all ages. The Better Together Adoption Event will be held at Santa Fe Place Mall, 4250 Cerrillos Road, and will showcase a diverse range of puppies, dogs, kittens, and cats, all eagerly seeking their forever homes. Under the expert guidance of shelter staff and volunteers, potential adopters can meet and connect with these delightful furry companions, forming lifelong bonds that bring joy and companionship to humans and animals alike. All three organizations will offer adoptions at $50, including spay or neuter, age-appropriate vaccinations, and more.

In addition to the adoption opportunities, the event will be broadcast live on the Richard Eeds radio show, Talk 1260 103.7 KTRC, from 1 to 4 p.m. Animal experts will also be present to provide valuable insights into animal care, training tips, and advice on responsible pet ownership. Individuals also have a chance to learn more about volunteering or becoming a foster with the organizations.
