Join us at the shelter March 17th through the 19th to celebrate cats!  We'll have waived adoption fees on cats 6 months and older, and $20 adoption fees on kittens.  (Some restrictions apply!) Gift bags for adopters and refreshments for all!

  On March 30th our Pet Amigos team will be at the Fire Station from 10am to 2pm offering free vaccines, deworming and nail trims for pets owned by Ohkay Owingeh residents.  These services are free of charge for residents.  Please call the shelter at 753-8662 for more information.

We're celebrating Earth Day by cleaning up the shelter grounds and we need your help!  From 11am to 3pm, come lend us a hand.   We'll provide the tools, a tasty lunch, and good company! Please call the shelter for more information, large groups welcome to volunteer.

On Friday, September 3, the Barkin Boutique will host a special trunk show of jewelry by Robin Hilliard Designs. The event runs from 4-7 pm and small bites will be served.

The shelter will be closed on November 16th for staff training.  

Holiday shopping at its best! Celebrate at the Barkin Attic with prices slashed up to 30% off! Friday and Saturday, 10 - 6 pm, and Sunday, noon - 6 pm.  

    Kick off the holiday season with us!  We'll have refreshments, giveaways, adoption specials, and pet supplies available for purchase.

On Friday, December 1, the Barkin Boutique will host a special soirée to show off all the designer clothing, jewelry, shoes and handbags that we have been stashing away. The goods will be ready for their big reveal from 4 to 7 pm. Bubbly will be served!
