Cindy Christensen fell in love with Santa Fe more than 30 years ago and returned often before making it her full-time home in 2023, following her husband’s retirement. She and her husband, Todd, share a blended family of five children and four grandchildren (soon to be five).

Cindy’s career was devoted to pediatric health care. She began as a pediatric nurse, including service in a refugee camp in Thailand, before earning her law degree and becoming the first general counsel for Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. She later served as President and Chief Operating Officer, concluding a distinguished career in health care leadership.

Cindy has served on the boards of Ronald McDonald House, March of Dimes, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Milwaukee, often in leadership roles. After retiring, her lifelong love of animals led her to volunteer with the Wildlife Rescue Center in Wisconsin, supporting the care and rehabilitation of injured wildlife.

As a member of the Española Humane board, Cindy looks forward to contributing to the organization’s continued growth and excellence.

“I am honored to join the Española Humane community. I am inspired by its mission, its dedicated staff and volunteers, and its remarkable record of success. I look forward to supporting its continued impact.”
