Be a lifesaver! Foster An Animal

Temporary loving homes for animals

Foster homes are an invaluable way to provide care and socialization away from the hectic atmosphere of the shelter. If you’re interested in becoming a foster volunteer, please fill out an application.

Where the Need
is Greatest

We serve some of New Mexico’s poorest communities, including the Native American Pueblos of Ohkay Owingeh, Santa Clara and San Ildefonso. Our outreach efforts build relationships with pet owners, identify the health of at-risk pets, and schedule surgeries for intact pets.

Upcoming Events

We hold low-cost vaccination and free spay/neuter events at our clinic to help pets in our community stay healthy.

Gifts that Save Lives

Most of us don’t need more “stuff.” We just want to spend time with our loved ones and make a difference in our communities.

Give your friends and family the joy of knowing that they transformed the life of an animal.

Hope & Faith

Foster parents, along with shelter staff, take care of our community’s most vulnerable pets. Please join us as we improve the lives of pets in one of New Mexico’s most underserved areas.

Finding loving homes, helping pets with exceptional services

Fostering continues to help save lives in our community. More than 250 parents fostered 1,380 pets in 2021, helping save 2,337 lives. We adopted 1,874 pets, helped find 225 homes through our transport partners, and reunited 238 pets with their guardians. Learn more in our annual report.
