Hello! My name is Phoebe!

Phoebe came to the shelter as an owner surrender and, upon arrival, it was clear she needed a little extra TLC. Staff discovered irritation on her back end and found that she was significantly overweight, weighing in at 26.6 pounds. Despite her challenges, Phoebe's journey since then has been nothing short of inspiring.

After receiving the care she needed at the shelter, Phoebe went into foster care where she was treated like the princess she truly is. With proper care, patience, and plenty of love, she began making progress toward a healthier and happier life. Her foster family helped her get back on track, and she returned to the shelter feeling much better and ready to find a forever home.

Phoebe was adopted for a time, but unfortunately, things didn't work out because she made it very clear that she prefers not to share her kingdom with other animals. Phoebe would much rather be the queen of the castle and soak up all the attention for herself.

Today, Phoebe is still continuing her weight loss journey and proving every day that she's determined to succeed. She gets around just fine and occasionally surprises everyone with quick little sprints out of her cage before settling into a sunny spot for a well-earned nap. She is affectionate, social, and wonderfully vocal, always making sure everyone knows when she's entered the room-or when she'd like a little extra attention.

Phoebe is looking for a home where she can be cherished for the special cat she is. Like many animals, she may need some time to adjust to a new environment and learn that she's safe. With patience, understanding, and lots of love, Phoebe will reward her family with endless companionship, plenty of conversation, and all the charm that makes her so unforgettable.

Applications for pets in foster care, at Ojo Santa Fe, or offsite in other programs will be reviewed by staff before appointments are scheduled.
